An Event with a Dog: 2022 ‘Daengdaeng Run’ Held in Songdo for the First Time in Three Years

   Hosted by trainer Kang Hyung-wook, the annual “Daengdaeng Run 2022 Incheon” was held at Songdo Moonlight Festival Park on Sept. 24, 2022, for the first time in three years. The event was held from 8 a.m. and events with trainer Kang Hyung-wook started at 11 a.m.

   Daengdaeng Run is a 5km campaign that aims to solve dog problems such as animal cruelty and abandonment through events enjoyed with pets. The event has an entry fee of 39,000 won and 1kg of feed would be donated per ticket to a dog pound located in Incheon called Happy Dog World.

   Despite Daengdaeng Run not being held for three years due to COVID-19, around 5,000 people participated in this year. 

   The event was available both online and offline and online participants could run anywhere from September 23 to 25. Both online and offline participants must install an app called Petping, the official app for Daengdaeng Run, to record their progress.

   Participants were eligible to receive the following prizes: a completion medal, energy drinks and chocolates, dog nutrition, and dog shampoo. 

   Daengdaeng Run also had a lucky draw featuring various prizes. People had the opportunity to see a dog performance, a Kang Hyung-wook talk show, and take a picture with Kang Hyung-wook in a photo booth. Singer, Crush, hosted a performance as a surprise performance his new song ‘Rush Hour’ in an event. 

   According to the Daengdaeng Run event information, the campaign aims to continuously inform and solve dog problems through events enjoyed with pets.

   Daengdaeng Run is an annual pet event hosted by 1986 production and Bodeum Company. Kang Hyung-wook is the CEO of Bodeum Company and a dog trainer. He is currently broadcasting “Dogs Are Great.” The program is broadcast Monday at 11:10 p.m. on KBS2.
